Blue Bottle Coffee opens their first cafe in Singapore
PSA: Blue Bottle Coffee is finally opening a permanent cafe in Singapore on 3 April 2025. This marks the cult coffee chain’s first-ever opening in Southeast Asia! FYI, the cafe is located within the LUMINE Singapore flagship store at Raffles City, which you can find near the mall entrance.
In case you didn’t know, the famous coffee brand held a pop-up in August 2024 at the same location, which garnered a lot of attention from coffee lovers.
For those who aren’t caught up to its cult following, the American brand was founded in a San Francisco garage back in 2002 by ex-musician James Freeman. Today, they have more than 100 stores worldwide, and you can spot their signature blue bottle logo in the USA, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and China.
Inspired by kissaten, or Japanese tearoom-slash-coffee shops, Blue Bottle Coffee rose to fame for their craft of coffee roasting and brewing, as well as their cafe ambience. The Japanese influence doesn’t end there: Freeman also drew inspo from the culture’s commitment to perfection, hospitality and customer service, and minimalism, as reflected in the aesthetics of any Blue Bottle store.
Back to their offerings at this Singapore outpost, we tried a total of four drinks and three pastries. The food menu is curated in collaboration with Bakery Brera, best known for their wallet-friendly artisan French pastries!
We enjoyed the Triple Cheese & Turkey Croissant ($8), a lovely, savoury treat best paired with a cup of coffee. You get a flaky viennoiserie with layers of turkey ham, melted mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan.
Else, get the Singapore-exclusive Coconut Kouign-Amann ($8) and Pandan Canele with Kaya ($6) if you prefer something sweet.
The former features a sweet, buttery pastry topped with freshly grated coconut, while the latter is a small French pastry with a caramelised exterior, packed with a fragrant kaya core.
Our favourite drink was the Cold Brew ($7.50), boasting an intense, bold flavour with very mild astringency towards the end. This is the perfect pick-me-up drink, especially on a sunny day.
There’s also the popular Nola ($8), which is only available iced. It resembles an iced latte, just slightly darker. The beverage blends milk and organic cane sugar to achieve a naturally rich and sweet flavour. We only recommend this if you have a sweet tooth!
Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with a cup of hot Latte ($8.50), which was velvety smooth and slightly milky. Side note: you don’t have to pay more for oat milk at Blue Bottle Coffee.
There’s also the Matcha Latte ($9.50), which boasted a well-balanced mix of creamy milk and grassy matcha.

Before you leave, check out their small display of house-designed Blue Bottle merch, ranging from mugs and tumblers to a coffee filter and tote bag.
You’ll also find small batch-roasted coffee here, available in five variations. Highlights include the Hayes Valley Espresso ($28) for a combination of rich chocolate and zesty orange flavours, or the Giant Steps ($28), which boasts notes of toasted marshmallow and graham cracker.
The 42-seater is adorned with brown, woody accents throughout, exuding a warm and inviting atmosphere for all coffee lovers to enjoy a cuppa joe.
