If you’re looking for affordable eats in Orchard, you might chance across Bobmi, a stall at Lucky Plaza with a very eye-catching look. Its bright yellow entrance looks almost cartoonish, and inside, the checkered tiles and swirly walls give off a surreal vibe. Aesthetic aside, Bobmi specialises in the classic Indonesian noodle dish, bakmi.

Bobmi is the brainchild of Shahrizal Salleh, better known as Chef Bob. You might know him from his media appearances or his various ventures into F&B. Bobmi is perhaps his most active business in Singapore, with three outlets across the island at the time of writing—the other two are in Tampines and Anchorvale.

The most basic noodle option here is the Bobmie Original ($6.90), which sees a pile of chewy wheat noodles topped with savoury minced meat and some greens. You can add some Ala Carte Sides ($3) to your bowl as well, such as Seafood Wantons, Chicken Cutlet, and Beef Bakso.

If you prefer your noodles spicy, there are some tantalising options here. These include the Bobmie Sambal Ijo ($7.90), Bobmie Sambal Geprek ($7.90) with smashed fried chicken, and if you want to really turn up the heat, the Bombie Volcano ($8.50). We hear the sambal is extra fiery in that last dish!

Those who prefer rice can opt for the Nasi Bombi Original ($6.90), Nasi Bombi Sambal Geprek ($7.90) and more. Consider Bobmi the next time you’re craving Indonesian food at a reasonable price!
