Recently, the famous BUNDT by The Backyard Bakers, makers of the “original blackout brownie”, closed its Havelock Road flagship store, leaving its Jewel Changi Airport as the brand’s only remaining outlet. But that’s about to change come mid-May, as The Backyard Bakers HQ, stylised as #thebackyardbakersHQ, is set to open in Far East Square.

When you visit this new outlet in May, be sure to get the Black Brownies (from $6.50).

These brownies are said to be moist, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth. They also have the rich chocolatey flavour you’d expect from a great brownie, without being too jelak.

Currently, they come in a whopping total of 13 flavours, including all-time favourites such as Valrhona Dulcey & Sea Salt, Peanut Butter & Pink Salt, and Premium Hojicha. According to a representative, this new outlet will have a bigger menu than before, so we’re excited to see what toothsome treats they have in store for us.

Be sure to get the Brookies (price TBD) as well. This delectable snack marries the best parts of a cookie and brownie. One of their bestselling flavours is Molten Lava Dark Choc & Sea Salt, which stars a smooth, luscious chocolate centre within a chewy cookie dough.

The Backyard Bakers also has some interesting takes on Banana Bread (price TBD), which comes in varieties such as Dark Choc Trail & Walnut and Jumbo Dark Choc Chip.

There’s likely to be a host of other delights at the upcoming outlet, so keep your eyes peeled for when it’s officially open!
