1. Marriott Cafe (Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel)
Located right in the middle of Orchard Road, Marriott Cafe’s convenient location means everyone can take part in a satisfying meal without too much of a hassle. Their lunch buffet (from $59++) dishes up a wide range of international cuisine, and we’re huge fans of the carving station. It comprises an assortment of roasted meats, including a whole slab of sirloin that’s cooked to a nice pink centre. It also comes with a wide range of condiments, such as garlic confit and whole-grain mustard, that complement the meats nicely.
Make sure to bring along a Citi Card because Cardmembers will get a whopping 50% off their total bill when dining here. This promotion is only valid until 31 March, so head down before then! Blackout dates apply on 24, 25 and 26 January.
2. Asian Market Cafe (Fairmont Singapore)
With a heavy focus on local fare, Asian Market Cafe pushes out a tasty selection of comforting dishes such as roti prata, satay, and their trademark durian pudding. This halal-certified buffet also features several seasonal dishes during this period, and you can look forward to goodies such as steamed kelong fish Hong Kong style, prawn paste chicken, and roasted duck with hoisin sauce. The latter impresses with juicy and succulent meat that’s accompanied with flavourful skin. Prices start from $70++ for lunch, and $80++ for dinner from Sundays to Thursdays. Take note that this promotion is valid from Sundays to Thursdays only, with blackout dates on the eve, first and second day of Chinese New Year.
Grab a friend for this tasty feast because there’s a 1-for-1 deal on the Lunar New Year buffet from 20 January to 8 February for all Citi Cardmembers.
3. Plate (Carlton City Hotel)
It’s a good idea to bring the party down to Plate, as there’s a complimentary Classic Abundance Salmon Yu Sheng for groups of six people and above. The Reunion Weekday Buffet Lunch ($68++) also plays host to plenty of seasonal treats including bak kwa, eight-treasure fried rice, and an addictive serving of egg noodles with crabmeat and yellow chives. I particularly liked the drunken prawn station, where live tiger prawns are cooked to order and served in an aromatic herbal broth that’s kissed with a touch of Shaoxing wine.
From now till 7 February, Citi Cardmembers will get to enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion on the lunch buffet on weekdays. Conveniently located next to the CBD, this cosy restaurant is an ideal venue for company gatherings. This promotion is not valid on the eve of Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year doesn’t mean that we have to focus entirely on Chinese cuisine. Make room for a slice of Italian fare with Spizza. This home-grown pizza chain has been around for over 18 years, and is known for its wood-fired thin-crust pizzas. Pizza Kung Pao ($24++) is a seasonal pizza flavour that features fiery kung pao chicken alongside cashew nuts, tomato sauce, dried chilli, spring onions, and a blanket of gooey mozzarella.
The restaurant offers free delivery for orders above $60, and Citi Cardmembers will also get to enjoy a 10% discount when they place their delivery or self-collect an order online with promo code ‘PROMOCITI10’. 7. Paradise Group of restaurants
Adding on to the list of restaurants with lavish yu sheng, the Paradise Group of restaurants offers an impressive Prosperity Abalone Yu Sheng that can serve eight guests. This colourful dish is great for kickstarting the festive mood, and comes with different ingredients of varying textures. The tangy plum sauce and canned abalone also take this dish up to the next level.
It is available for takeaway at all Beauty in The Pot, Paradise Dynasty, Canton Paradise (excluding Changi Airport T3 and Westgate), Paradise Classic and Paradise Hotpot outlets. Citi Cardmembers looking to get this tasty treat before 9 February will get to enjoy 10% off as well.

Known for serving up a wide variety of international fare, including a scrumptious bowl of Singapore-style laksa, Oscar’s is a favourite amongst buffet aficionados. Dinner prices go for $78++ from Sundays to Thursdays, and $88++ on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant is also offering plenty of seasonal treats such as drunken blue prawns during this period.

The restaurant also offers seasonal Chinese New Year set menus for a group of 10 diners, with prices starting from $688++ and $788++ for Chinese New Year Eve. The restaurant’s signature roasted whole boneless suckling pig is also available in Set Menu C ($968++), and has an irresistible crackling.

CNY dinner is only complete with a colourful serving of Yu Sheng. Homegrown cafe, Han’s, and its halal-certified sister cafe, Hanis, are serving two different types of auspicious yu sheng that are bound to look great at any dining table. Feast on these tasty CNY deals
With so many exciting Chinese New Year deals to choose from, it’s easy to get spoilt for choice. My best bit of advice when planning for a group meal is to get everyone to double confirm their attendance a day before. This way, there’s no need to worry about no-shows or last-minute attendees popping in.
It’s also a good idea to take advantage of the assortment of dining privilege options available with Citi Cards. From fine dining to casual meals across a wide variety of cuisines, there ought to be a dining deal for any occasion. This includes 1-for-1 buffet promotions, return vouchers, up to 50% off the total bill, complimentary food items, and more.
