This Ramadan, if you’re looking for something different from the yearly Geylang Serai and Kampong Gelam bazaars, check out Deanna’s Kitchen. This popular halal hawker stall in Jurong is giving away free prawn noodles for the month of Ramadan, from 4pm to 8pm daily!

The stall recently announced it in an Instagram post. All you need to do is approach the counter and flash the post or ask for the Ramadan giveaway, and you can enjoy a free bowl of regular prawn mee, usually priced at $7.50. Each person is entitled to one free bowl, and a $0.30 charge applies to all takeaway orders.

The giveaway will run from 23 March to 21 April 2023.

Besides their regular prawn mee, Deanna’s Kitchen also has a Clams & Prawn Mee option, priced at $7.50 as well. This bowl comes with 15 to 20 clams, which are said to be sweet and juicy, alongside prawns and fishcake. You also get to choose your preferred noodle—bee hoon, yellow noodles, kway teow, or thick bee hoon.

Otherwise, if you wish to splurge, get the Crayfish & Prawn Mee (price TBD) that comes with chunky pieces of crayfish on top of the dish.

Whichever option you go for, the hei mee broth is said to be flavourful and packed with umami, thanks to the generous amount of prawn shells and anchovies used.

Another popular prawn mee stall worth trying is Feng Ji Big Prawn Noodle, an eatery near Tai Seng MRT Station. Here you can catch your own live prawns with a net, adding to the experience. The prawns are said to be fresh and sweet, while the heady prawn broth is rich and robust.
