This New Potong Pasir Cafe Serves Fusion Kopi And Toast Sets In Flavours Such As Grilled Mentaiko

Fete Kopi & Toast opens near Potong Pasir MRT

Some of you might remember 51 Noodle House, a fusion bak chor mee stall that made its debut at Yishun Park Hawker Centre in 2019. Late last year, they opened a new outlet at The Venue Shoppes, a small retail area located under a condominium in Potong Pasir. Apart from serving their signature bak chor mee, this outlet also houses their new cafe concept, Fete Kopi & Toast.

Along the same lines as 51 Noodle House, which offers Japanese-inspired bak chor mee, Fete serves kopi and toast sets with a Japanese twist. Expect to find familiar favourites including Kaya Butter ($1.90), Butter Sugar ($1.90) and Peanut Butter Toast ($2.50) here, alongside their contemporary counterparts such as Grilled Mentaiko ($3.50) and Yuzu Butter Toast ($2.50). Their kaya is house-made, too!

While the Grilled Mentaiko Toast comprises savoury, blow-torched spicy cod roe spread on two slices of toasted white bread, the Yuzu Butter Toast appears to be a play on the traditional kaya butter combo, with a tangy yuzu marmalade taking the place of kaya. 

For a more filling option, try their sandwiches—the Sandwich ($5.50), on one hand, features shoulder ham, cheese, egg, cucumber and lettuce between two toast slices. The Katsu Sandwich ($7.50), on the other, swaps out shoulder ham for the more atas chicken katsu.

Top up $3.80 to make a set with any toast or sandwich, which, as you’d guess, includes a classic cup of sock-brewed kopi or teh, as well as two soft-boiled eggs.

As Fete shares space with 51 Noodle House, they serve toast sets during breakfast and tea time only, which spans from 10:30am to 12pm and 3pm to 7pm respectively. Do visit during these hours if you’d like to try their toast!  

Otherwise, you can also get a taste of 51 Noodle House’s signature Japanese fusion noodles, including the Signature Bak Chor Mee. At this outlet, the dish is tweaked slightly, with different cuts of pork and added beancurd rolls. Get a bowl for $8 with pork belly or $10 with pork shoulder.
