Hazukido: Famous Japanese-Style Croissant Bakery Is Coming To Singapore In July

Hazukido croissants are coming to Singapore in July 2024

Singapore has been hit by a croissant wave, with brands serving up different versions of the classic French pastry, from smashed to a croissant-cookie hybrid. If you think you’ve seen all the versions of a croissant there are to offer, we’re here to say sorry, wrong! Because Hazukido is coming to town. They’re scheduled to open their first Singaporean bakery in Ngee Ann City, on 1 July 2024.

For those who don’t know, Hazukido is a famous croissant brand known for their Japanese-style interpretations of the flaky French viennoiserie. The brand hails from Taiwan, but now has outlets worldwide, including some in Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, even Canada.

Though the brand isn’t from Japan, they adhere to the Japanese culinary philosophy of using premium ingredients and baking in small, limited batches to ensure that the quality of their bakes is consistent. Their buttery croissants are a product of French butter, Japanese flour, and ISO-certified eggs.

Singaporeans can expect an extensive selection of croissant flavours available at Hazukido’s Takashimaya bakery.

On their website, we count over 20 different flavours and fillings—highlights include a Taro Pudding Croissant, filled with orh nee, an Earl Grey Bubble Croissant, topped with actual boba pearls, a Premium Durian Custard Croissant, filled with D24, and many more.

Aside from sweet croissants, the brand also has a small selection of savouries, such as the Garlic Croissant, dusted with umami garlic powder, and a Seaweed Meat Floss Croissant, a zhnged-up version of the BreadTalk staple.

According to the brand’s recent Instagram post, they’ll be soft launching from 1 to 5 July 2024. The grand opening of the store is 6 to 8 July, when you can expect a few promotions. The first 30 customers will get a buy 1 get 5 free deal on bakery items, whereas the next 60 customers can enjoy a buy 3 get 3 free promotion. Fret not if you’re not one of the early ones, as you can still enjoy a 10% discount when you follow and share their Facebook or Instagram page.

While it’s not confirmed that all of Hazukido’s flavoured croissants will be sold at the Singapore outlet, we’re definitely anticipating a variety. We’re also hoping that they will be halal, or Muslim-friendly, but have no word on that just yet.
