The next time you’re at Changi Airport, head to Terminal 3 to check out J’aime Bakehouse. This new bakery is helmed by Wythe Ng, a baker who used to lead the pastry team at Bakery Brera and Keong Saik Bakery. He also runs La Levain, an artisanal bakery slash cafe that went viral for onigiri croissants and smashed croissants!
J’aime Bakehouse operates as a grab-and-go bakery, offering a variety of freshly baked pastries at affordable prices. The most popular item of the lot is the brulee tart, available in different flavours.
The Salted Egg Brulee Tart ($3.60) is a local favourite, starring a layered charcoal crust brimming with a creamy, charred salted egg core.
For a sweet and nutty combination, consider the Pistachio Brulee Tart (price TBD) instead. Otherwise, the classic Creme Brulee Egg Tart (price TBD) is an equally delicious choice, starring a caraemlised filling and crispy, flaky crust.
Tarts aside, the bakery is also known for their Chicken Floss Pound Cake ($5.60), an elevated take on the popular seaweed floss buns found at bakeries, including Bao’s Pastry and Good Day Bakery.
There are plenty of viennoiseries and even Swiss roll slices (price TBD) here, the latter available in Mixed Berry and Gula Melaka flavours.
J’aime Bakehouse is located in the basement of Changi Airport T3, and is open from 10am to 10pm daily. The bakery is fairly new, so please extend some grace if you encounter any hiccups along the way.
