CBD-ites, you’ll soon have another coffee spot in town to catch your caffeine kicks at. Specialty coffee roaster and coffee bar Kohi Coffee is opening on the first floor of UIC Building, on Shenton Way. The opening date, and menu are unconfirmed, but we will update this post with more information when we have it.

If you are unfamiliar with Kohi, the Bangkok-native roaster first hit Singapore shores at the beginning of last year as a hole-in-the-wall coffee bar in Joo Chiat. Operating out of a window at the back of Crane Living, the East-side spot is easily spotted thanks to the bright yellow box painted around the window it operates out of.

Since they’re a specialty coffee roaster, you will be remiss to drop by without trying one of their brews. Their nod to our little island comes in the form of a Red Dot blend of beans, which is said to have notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Start with an Espresso ($3.50), Black ($5.50), or White ($6), or go big with their Dark Mocha ($7), which stars 72% Vietnamese chocolate.

For something special, go for one of their signature drinks ($7), including Kohito, which is a blend of ice black, mint, and milk. There’s also Iced Espresso OJ, where espresso and orange juice are poured over ice. Other drinks in this series are Iced Coco Hoji, for coconut water and hojicha, and Iced Espresso Tonic, where espresso meets tonic water and ice.

Then, there are the non-coffee drinks, such as Matcha or Hojicha Latte ($6.50) and Chocolate ($6). They also have a selection of teas, including Duck Shit Dancong ($6.50) and Himalayan Golden Tips ($6.50).

Another specialty coffee spot that recently opened in the CBD is Kyo Kohee, which also specialises in matcha drinks. Otherwise, check out Equate Coffee in Orchard Central!
