If you’ve been to farmers’ markets around town, you might have seen the Marymount Bakehouse booths, whose goods are constantly sold out before the end of each fair day. Rather than chase them down at these pop-up events, here’s some welcome news for one and all: they’ve just opened their first permanent location in Sin Ming, off Upper Thomson Road!

This space is shared with Mr Bucket Chocolaterie, so not only will you be able to purchase Marymount Bakehouse’s artisanal sourdough bakes, but the store is also stocked with the local chocolatier’s bonbons and more. There are several dine-in seats, limited to camping tables and chairs just outside the store, best for enjoying a cuppa hot chocolate after shopping.

In conjunction with the opening of this new store, Marymount Bakehouse has launched a series of Marymufflets ($7), AKA their spin on the traditional English muffin. These sourdough Marymufflets come in two variations: Black Truffle, Cheese and Poached Pear, or French Toast with Morning Rice Custard and bananas.

If you’ve not tried Marymount Bakehouse’s wares, one of their most popular bakes is Shepherd’s Pie (The MMBH Way), which is priced at $28 for a 5.5-inch pie, and $69 for a 7-inch pie which is good for six to eight. This luxe take on the classic pie sees Angus beef tail and lamb mince cooked in their own jus, topped with quenelles of potato with Japanese mayonnaise egg tartare, jamon croquettas, and lemon zest.

Look out too for the Forest Mushroom Levain Pie (price TBD), or Roasted Corn Chowder and Basil Crab Levain Pie (from $18.80). This stars a smoked red pepper puree, stewed with red wine vinegar and Japanese mayonnaise, buttermilk cream, and a corn chowder base, loaded with lots of crab.

Since they’re sourdough specialists, you can’t leave without trying some of their sourdough focaccia. Start with Focaccia Pomme de Terre (from $22), slathered with a black truffle and burnt leek cream. This loaf is made with a base of roasted Yukon Gold potatoes, roasted chestnuts, black truffle paste, truffle oil, and house-made potato chips.

For bread that’s more suited for daily eating, there’s Applewood Smoked Mushroom Sourdough ($18.80)—a rye and malt sourdough accented with black garlic and dill. Alternatively, go for Oolong Orange & Chocolate Chip ($19), where oolong-hydrated sourdough is studded with candied orange and dark chocolate chips.

Complete your retail experience at this new Marymount Bakehouse x Mr Bucket Chocolaterie store with a box of the chocolate maker’s popular Bon Bons, which you could enjoy as a box of six, priced from $25. It’s not clear which of their hot chocolates are available here, but we’re hoping their 72% Single Origin Hot Chocolate ($8) and Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate ($9) have made the cut.

Just three minutes away from Marymount Bakehouse is The Summer Acai, which we ranked fourth in our quest for the best acai in Singapore. On the main Upper Thomson thoroughfare, you’ll also find the newest Isshin Machi outlet!
