Mitte Mitte is a beautiful brunch cafe in Chiang Mai Thailand
Now that travel restrictions to popular holiday destinations are lifted, many of us are sussing out new places on the map to discover. If you’re into cafe-hopping, you definitely have to visit Chiang Mai, a mountainous city in Thailand with a vibrant brunch and coffee scene. Located in the Chang Moi district is Mitte Mitte, a beautiful two-storey cafe serving a wide selection of brunch food, including house-made bagels.
Set in a restored old house, this spacious cafe is a mere 15-minute drive from Chiang Mai International Airport. Both alfresco and indoor seating are available, but we recommend the latter as the interiors are beautiful.
Head upstairs for a more private dining experience, but do note that the space gets pretty packed during the lunch hour. Alternatively, the cafe has cosy little nooks that you can chope if you visit earlier to beat the crowd.
All-day brunch is offered here, with the cheapest dish on the menu being the Panini Omelette, well-priced at ฿170/~S$7. The cafe is inspired by Mitte, an arts district in Berlin, where its owners spent years studying.
We recommend the Eggs Bae (฿195/~S$8): house-made English muffins with poached eggs, smoked bacon, and spicy mayo, served with a beautiful array of grilled veggies.
Pair the perfectly poached eggs with the savoury bacon and freshly baked muffins for a creamy and hearty bite.
Another popular pick is the Chang Moi – Katsu Bagel (฿220/~S$9), prepared with a house-made bagel. You can also opt for their special Onion bagel instead, with a small top-up of ฿10 or S$0.40.
This stacked bagel sandwich spotlights a crispy, chunky Northern Thai sausage that’s breaded and deep-fried, finished with a fried egg and creamy Béchamel mustard sauce. It’s spicy, savoury, and oh-so-satisfying.
Mitte Mitte also serves espresso-based coffee, with classics such as Latte (฿75/~S$3) and Caramel Macchiato (฿75/~S$3).
