Helmed by the folks behind Sawasdee Thai Restaurant next door, Nakey first opened earlier this year in May. Itโ€™s since caught the attention of cafe hoppers for its IG-worthy decor and food.ย

The cafe sports a mid-century modern look, featuring warm, woody materials alongside sleek marble and stainless steel surfaces. It makes for a minimalist yet cosy space thatโ€™s perfect for aesthetic photos and videos.ย

The cafeโ€™s centrepieces are definitely the fluted wood bar counter, and concrete divider with decorative holes that demarcate the indoor and outdoor spaces of the cafe.ย

As for the food, a highlight of the cafeโ€™s menu is its bombolone doughnuts. Unlike their O-shaped counterparts, bombolone originated from Italy, and stars a distinct sugary coating with creamy filling on the inside.

Traditionally, these doughnuts are filled with custard, which you can find at Nakey as the Custard Bastard ($5.50+). Other flavours include Chocolate ($6+), Nutty Praline ($6+) and Thai Ice Tea ($6+). A fan favourite is the Lemon Meringue ($6+), served with a dollop of toasted lemon meringue, and garnished with lemon and lime zest.ย

Doughnuts arenโ€™t the only thing on their menu; if youโ€™re looking for something more hearty, try one of their pasta dishes, including Spicy Chicken Rigatoni ($18+) and Seafood Kombu Capellini ($19+).ย

Brunch-goers will also be pleased to know that Nakey serves brunch all-day long. Have their Nakey Brekkie ($22+), which is a generous spread of breakfast essentials, including mushroom on sourdough, streaky bacon, chicken sausage, tater tots, guacamole spread, and a garden salad with house-made yuzu dressing.

Alternatively, order their Soba Bowl ($13+) for a healthy, vegan-friendly treat starring soba noodles alongside maple-roasted pumpkin chunks, pickled beets, cherry tomatoes and marinated burrata.ย

After your meal, quench your thirst with their signature Caramel Biscoff Latte ($7+) and Matcha Pistachio Latte ($7+). While the former is a sweetened caffe latte topped with a layer of milky foam and biscoff crumbs, the latter blends the bittersweet flavours of matcha with the nuttiness of pistachios.ย
