Best new restaurants and cafes in July 2025
Singapore’s food scene is buzzing with new launches and happenings this month. We’ve done the legwork and compiled a list of the best new restaurants and cafes in July 2025, from famous Hong Kong cafes to a fried chicken eatery by a famous YouTube group.
Table of Contents
1. Kyo Komachi
Kyo Komachi is VivoCity’s newest kid on the block. The new restaurant is best known for their viral handmade Himokawa udon, an ultra-wide, flat noodle beloved in Gunma Prefecture.
If you’re lucky, you can catch chefs hard at work preparing your udon by hand at the udon-making station. The dough is put through the machine repeatedly to achieve its thin size. We recommend ordering the signature Kimokawa Udon ($12.90++) with the Shoyu or Curry sauce, as we found the Sesame a little too cloying. But if you enjoy rich, nutty flavours, then the latter may be worth a try!
Another collective favourite is their Signature White Curry Udon ($12.90++), a fun twist on your typical curry udon, where house-made espuma-style mousse is paired with a rich Japanese curry base.

2. Bored Tacos
Popular Muslim-owned chain Bored Tacos has finally opened its third outlet near Haji Lane, so you don’t have to fight the crowd to get your hands on their delicious tacos and quesadilla anymore.
We loved their Beef Chilli Cheese Quesadilla ($12.90), where fragrant minced beef was doused in a tangy tomato sauce and enveloped by a golden brown tortilla wrap. The Loaded Nachos ($14.90) was a pretty solid dish too, starring crispy nacho chips stacked with gooey mozzarella, nacho cheese drizzle, and a dollop of guacamole and salsa on the side. Wash everything down with their made-in-Mexico Jarritos for $4.50 each, which come in a range of fruity flavours.

3. Song Gye Ok
If you’ve been to Korea, you might have heard of Song Gye Ok, as their outlets there draw long queues daily. The popular restaurant arrived in Singapore this June 2025, so you can have a try to see what the hype is all about without buying a ticket to Korea!
For those here with company, go for the Sgo Signature Platter ($98++), which features a range of speciality chicken cuts that are seldom offered elsewhere. Among all the cuts, our favourite was the Boneless Neck Fillet as it was tender and melt-in-your-mouth soft.
Song Hye Ok is a sister brand of the popular samgyetang spot, MODU restaurant. So while you’re here, go for their outlet-exclusive Truffle Samgyetang ($34++), starring creamy truffle broth served with a whole, tender chicken that’s stuffed with glutinous rice and jujube.

4. SIDES Singapore
ICYMI: Famous UK YouTube group the Sidemen has launched SIDES in Singapore at Bugis+! The group’s food venture has five outlets in the UK, specialising in double-dipped, double-coated fried chicken.
Expect a lineup of burgers, fried chicken, sides, and sauces here. During our visit, we tried their Classic Chicken Burger (from $12.90), packed with a large chicken patty, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and a sauce of your choice—we went with the Chipotle sauce. While the seasonings in this burger were flavourful, the chicken was unfortunately overcooked and dry. The Nashville Tenders ($10.50) fared better, pairing well with sauces such as Chipotle, Louisiana, and Nashville Cheese.

6. Joji’s Deli
Opened by the same crew behind the famous Joji’s Diner is Joji’s Deli, which has recently taken over the now-defunct Joji’s Sandwich Parlour. The cafe is located right beside Joji’s Diner, near Serangoon MRT Station. Like Joji’s Diner, you can expect American comfort food: think loaded sandwiches, pastas, mains, and other moreish snacks.
Some of our favourites include the Classic Reuben ($18) and Shrimp Po’Boy ($18) sourdough sandwiches, which feature hickory wood-smoked Angus beef brisket and Cajun grilled shrimp, respectively. If noodles are your preferred carb, you’d be happy to know that their revamped menu sees dishes such as Carbonara ($14) and Crab Butter ($14). Order plates of Truffle Fries ($12), Fresh Calamari ($12), or Fry Scallop ($10) to share among your dining companions as well.

To celebrate their first birthday, La Table d’Emma has rolled out new menu items that blend classic French flavours with hearty Alsatian home cooking. Start your meal on a high with the Mushroom Consommé “Cappuccino” ($22++): umami-packed shitake broth with button mushroom foam, savoured with sourdough parmesan-mushroom brioche. Then, move on to the mains, where you’ll find highlights such as Les Bouchées À La Reine d’Emma 2.0, a tribute to Head Chef Michael Muller’s wife. This dish comprises a creamy mix of veal and chicken, topped with light and flaky puff pastry.

The Kaya Mon Amour ($16++) is a must-get for dessert. It stars kougerlopf—traditional Alsatian brioche—sandwiching house-made gula melaka kaya and pandan mousse. The whole shebang is served with kaya parfait glace: vanilla ice cream, pandan coconut cloud foam, gula melaka syrup, and caramelised brioche croutons.

8. Tofu G
Guilt-free gelato in town? Count us in. Tofu G is a new Korean pop-up at Mandarin Gallery serving premium tofu gelato in six different flavours, with each scoop priced at $8. The gelato here is tofu-based, and is said to be inspired by the traditional technique of grinding soybeans with a millstone. While the gelato is not dairy-free, it’s lighter and lower in fat than regular ice cream, so you can indulge without feeling jelak.
Popular flavours include Black Sesame and Sweet Potato. If you like the sweet, buttery goodness of corn, the Sweet Corn flavour would be right up your alley. We also recommend their Pistachio gelato, which combines the signature nuttiness of pistachio with soybeans.
