Old Chang Kee bak kwa puff
Old Chang Kee is gearing up for Chinese New Year feasting with its latest range of all new snacks, available from now till February 13. These include a Dengdeng Bak Kwa Chicken’O, Heng Heng Pineapple Pie, and Ha Ha Tiger Prawn OnStik.

The highlight here is obviously the Dengdeng Bak Kwa Chicken’O, which is priced at $2.60. The puff is Muslim-friendly, thanks to the use of chicken instead of pork. The usual buttery OCK puff pastry is filled with a dengdeng filling, made with halal-certified chicken, and prepared with a medley of spices to taste reminiscent of actual bak kwa.
Each puff comes stamped with one of four unique auspicious characters, so try your luck when you order to see which you get.

Sweet-toothed folks can look forward to trying the Heng Heng Pineapple Pie, priced at $1.60. This goes out to fans of McDonald’s pineapple pie, albeit with a dried pineapple filling similar to a pineapple tart rather than fresh fruit and jam.

Finally, to usher in the year of the tiger, try the Ha Ha Tiger Prawn OnStik, priced at $1.90. This is made for fans of ngoh hiang, as each piece comes with two pieces. The filling is made of fresh tiger prawns, fish meat, water chestnut, and spring onions.
All items are available while stocks last, at all Old Chang Kee outlets islandwide.
