State of Mind is a new home cafe in Yishun
Home cafes are just everywhere these days. In fact, there are now enough home cafes in Tampines to fill an entire listicle. If you live in the North and want to see what this trend is all about, we recommend you check out State of Mind, which is located in a humble HDB estate in Yishun.
5 Home Cafes In Tampines For Quality Coffee And Matcha From $3
State of Mind offers a range of coffee and tea that goes toe-to-toe with many actual cafes. Before heading down, you’ll have to make an order on their website, then choose a suitable timeslot to come collect your drinks.

One of the more popular items here is the Ceremonial Matcha Latte (from $5.50). While this drink was sold out during our visit, we hear that the ceremonial-grade matcha used here is of good quality, and a nice matcha-to-milk ratio is used. You can opt to have Oat Milk ($0.50) in the drink instead, and even add a shot of espresso for an additional $1.
If you’re not a matcha fan, there are other tea options here, including the Hojicha Latte (from $5) and Dirty Chai Latte ($5). We especially enjoyed the former, which we found pleasantly nutty and toasty.
For some solid coffee, opt for either The Yin (from $4), double espresso over filtered water, or The Yang (from $4.50), which swaps filtered water with your milk of choice. For something a little more fragrant, opt for the Dirty Sesame Latte (from $5), where double espresso meets stone-ground 100% black sesame.
