SuuKee Coffee has creme brulee orh nee toast in Orchard
SuuKee Coffee is a new, cosy cafe located at Scotts Square that serves up a range of scrumptious local fare, including curry chicken, rice bowls, and breakfast toasts—but what they’re really known for is their orh nee toast! Recently, they introduced a new Creme Brulee Orh Nee Toast, the perfect sweet treat just in time for the holiday season. This will be available till 31 December 2024.
Orh nee enthusiasts can pick from several variations, with the OG Orh Nee ($3.60) and Orh Nee Butter ($3.90) being the most popular options. To enjoy the creme brulee addition, all you have to do is top up $2! My toast amounted to $5.90 since I got the Orh Nee Butter version.
The taro-filled toast gets an additional slab of orh nee spread slathered atop the toast. Then, it is covered in a sprinkle of cane sugar before it is blow-torched, giving it a crispy, caramelised top akin to a creme brulee.
Their signature taro toast features a combination of thick orh nee spread as well as fragrant coconut cream. The orh nee spread has a paste-like consistency and an earthier flavour compared to kaya.
The creme brulee lent the toast an extra crisp, but the sweetness was slightly overbearing. Nevertheless, those with a sweet tooth will really enjoy the candied layer.
For those who prefer something a little more savoury, the Salted Egg Toast ($3.90) does the trick.
Don’t forget to get any of the taro-infused drinks in the series: the Orh Nee Boba Kopi and Orh Nee Boba Teh, priced at $5.70 each. These drinks come smeared with orh nee paste in the cup, which gives the drink a delightful creaminess when mixed with the milk tea.
