Ippon Fusion Bowl is a hawker stall at Our Tampines Hub that specialises in Japanese fusion bowls, all priced under $10. The Ippon Chicken Rice ($6.30)Â is a great bang for your buck, comprising fried buttermilk chicken chunks, pickled veggies, fried shallots, and black fungus atop rice, finished with a unique Nanyang-style aioli made from mayo, sambal, and Asian spices. If you prefer noodles, go for the Ippon Dry Ramen ($7.50), featuring grilled char siew, minced pork, fresh spring onions, pickled vegetables, fried shallots, black fungus, seaweed, and a runny onsen egg.

Run by two ex-Keisuke chefs, Ramen Hitoyoshi is another gem at Our Tampines Hub for delicious ramen that doesn’t break the bank. This fuss-free eatery is especially popular for their Special Chashu Garlic Tonkotsu ($19.90++), featuring a medley of classic ramen toppings drenched in a rich pork bone broth. The soup is boiled for eight hours, then chilled overnight, before it’s reheated for service, resulting in a robust, umami-packed flavour. The ramen joint also offers a small menu of rice bowls and sides to complete your meal!

GoodYear Seafood Village Tampines might be an off-the-beaten-path zi char eatery in an industrial area, but diners don’t seem to mind the travel. Their dishes are said to be delicious and well-priced! You’ll find lesser-seen items, including German Style Pork Knuckle ($35) and Golden Garlic Spiced Pork ($20), alongside zi char staples such as Hotplate with Beancurd ($15) and Black Pepper Beef ($15). Pair your liao with their Imperial Treasure Fried Rice with Fresh Crab Meat ($13), or go for the Chef’s Big Prawn Ying Yang ($13) instead, where crispy noodles are topped with giant prawns.
