If you’re looking for a place to unwind with friends and family, visit The Great Mischief, located at The National Gallery. They have recently launched their Catalan-inspired afternoon tea set at $38.90++ per person, available on weekdays at selected times.Â
The afternoon tea set is a three-tiered set that features five sweet and savoury items each, a slice of Basque burnt cheesecake, as well as the option to top up $5 to try their Paella Valenciana, served in individual portions. Beverages such as coffee, tea, and a glass of mocktail are also included.Â
Inspired by Catalan cuisine, their savoury set includes Croquetas, Pan Con Tomate, Jorizo Tartina, and Tortilla With Garlic Aioli. The highlight is the croquetas, which are served with salsa and a drop of garlic aioli sauce on top. Inside lies a thin slice of turkey ham fried with bechamel, making it a savoury treat.Â
Topping up $5 allows you to try their Paella Valenciana, a dish consisting of short grain rice with various cuts of chicken. The chicken was seasoned well and relatively juicy, but the rice was slightly on the drier side.Â
If you’re someone with a sweet tooth, the sweet treats are definitely up your alley. These include the Chocolate Churros, Tarta De Santiago, a Spanish almond cake, as well as a Banoffee Tart, otherwise known as a Banana Toffee Tart.Â
Aside from that, they also serve their signature Burnt Cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and sweet, it is perfect for sharing, as having one for yourself might be too much. The skin of the cake is also burnt slightly, allowing one to taste a tinge of caramel alongside the creaminess. Altogether, this burnt cheesecake is one of the crowd favourites of the afternoon tea set.Â
Another must-have is definitely the tea—and The Great Mischief does not disappoint. It offers customers five different types of tea, such as Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Moroccan Mint, Chamomile, and Jasmine Green. The teapots and cups are specially curated so they match each other as well!Â
If you’re not a fan of tea, you can also opt for their coffees available, or choose their mocktails instead. These include peach or berry sangria or orange mimosa, both of which are served iced cold, providing a relief from the heat.Â
Bring your friends and family down to The Great Mischief to enjoy this afternoon tea set while soaking in the picturesque views of Singapore! This set is available Monday to Friday at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. Be sure to reserve your slots in advance to secure one of their booth seats!Â
