Having been around for more than 30 years, Chun Man Yuan, also known as CMY, is widely known for being one of the largest satay manufacturers in Singapore. CMY has also been supplying 168 CMY Satay, a Michelin-approved hawker stall located within Chinatown Complex and Food Centre for over a decade.

Recognised on the Michelin Guide for their cooked-to-order satay and delicious peanut pineapple dipping sauce, 168 CMY Satay is pretty affordable, too. Priced at just $0.60 per stick, the stall offers pork, chicken, and mutton satay with a minimum order of 10 sticks.

The satay is cooked to order and grilled over a charcoal fire, so you can get it fresh and hot, with a pleasant hint of smokiness. Everything is seasoned and marinated before grilling, so the satay itself is super flavourful even on its own, without dipping into the sauce. It’s also been said to have a superior meat-to-fat ratio for a burst of juices with every bite.
Their peanut sauce comes with a dollop of pineapple puree, which adds flavour and sweetness, while helping to offset the greasiness of the meat. It’s a rather unique approach to the usual peanut sauce you’d get in a satay stall, so if you’re looking for a different way to have your satay, this is an option!

You can also add Rice Ketupat ($0.60), which is a rice cake packed in banana leaves. Dunk it into the satay sauce to mop up all the goodness!
The satay stall is located in Chinatown Complex and Food Centre, which is a mere two-minute walk from Chinatown MRT Station.
