2112 Bakery has affordable bakes in Toa Payoh
One of my favourite pastimes is looking for hidden bakeries in Singapore, and so you can imagine my excitement when I came across a TikTok video about 2112 Bakery in Toa Payoh. The under-HDB bakery is named after the birthday of the baker’s mother, and being the sentimental individual that I am, this heartwarming story was enough to catch my attention.

This humble bakery has a lot to offer with their lovely range of puffs and pastries, which are also affordably priced. Their menu sees everything from the good ol’ Big Chicken Pie ($2.40) to modern bakes such as New York Cheesecake ($6.50). If you’d like a whole cake instead of just one slice, consider their Goey Burnt Cheesecake ($35) instead.

Of all the bakes, their Portuguese Egg Tart ($1.70) is a collective favourite among regulars. You get a creamy, velvety smooth custard within a flaky, crispy crust.

Some online reviews have touted the custard to be the right amount of sweet and eggy, which explains why customers go back for it time and time again.

You can also look forward to their monthly special Swiss Roll (price TBD), where a different flavour is introduced for a limited time. So far, they have had flavours of Raspberry, Milo and Coffee, and most recently Pistachio as well! We encourage you to check their Instagram page to get the latest updates on the flavour of the month.Â
FYI, 2112 Bakery currently has three branches across the country: Toa Payoh, Yew Tee, and Canberra.Â
