Daily Beer opens in Telok Ayer with famous Korean fried chicken
Founded in 2014, the award-winning Daily Beer is a hugely popular South Korean fried chicken and craft beer restaurant. They’re also vouched for by fans such as EXO’s Xiumin, as well as the cast of SBS’ Running Man.
They’ve got over 370 outlets in Korea, and have now decided to expand to open their first-ever overseas outlet here in Singapore. Daily Beer Singapore has officially opened its doors at Telok Ayer, so if you’re looking for a chimaek spot, give them a shot.
The new Daily Beer restaurant is located at 212 Telok Ayer Street, a quick walk from Amoy Street Food Centre. Its vibey neon-lit premises can seat 87 patrons, so you won’t have to bump elbows with others as you dig into your meal.
Onto the food: diners can enjoy a wide range of fried chicken flavours, as well as classic Korean street eats here. Their signature fried chicken is known as Angry Bird on the menu, and is priced from $27.90++ for 600g of wings.
Note that the half-and-half option is available for most of their fried chicken items. We opted for the Original and Black—the latter is a sweet garlic soy sauce in case you were wondering.
I’m a huge fan of Korean fried chicken, and I’ve had my fair share of it both here in Singapore and back home in Korea. The ones at Daily Beer didn’t fall short of my expectations—each piece was a delicious combination of tender and juicy meat within a crispy and mildly spicy batter.
I strongly recommend the Original flavour, but fans of sweet-salty flavours will surely love the Black as well.
If regular ol’ double-fried chicken isn’t your thing, then opt for any of the other four Angry Bird flavours. There’s Red, which is your classic sticky, spicy yangnyeom, Kimchi, dusted with a zingy kimchi powder, and Crunch, topped with garlic seasoning and crunchy cornflakes. These flavoured versions start at $29.90++ for 600g of wings.
Daily Beer Singapore also has a handful of bar bite platters, which come with classic Korean bar snacks. The Cheese Balls ($12++) is one to try; these feature mozzarella cheese stuffed in a sweet mochi-like fried ball. Each basket comes with five pieces, which are perfect for sharing with your dining companions.
Otherwise, go for the classic Original French Fries ($16++) or Kimchi Fries ($16++). If you can’t make up your mind, we recommend getting half of each to get the best of both worlds.

We also recommend adding some mains into the mix. Their Premium Fish Cake Soup ($28++), for example, is a spicy riff on oden, and comes topped with different kinds of fried and steamed fish cakes, as well as shrimp skewers. The Daily Budae Tteokbokki also looks delish. Priced at $30++, you’ll get a claypot of army stew, generously topped with tteokbokki.
The dishes here are great for sharing, so bring a friend or two and work your way through.

Daily Beer Singapore’s motto is “no beer, no work”, so you can’t possibly put your stomach to work without washing it down with some beer.
The restaurant has a craft beer draught wall, where you’ll get a range of seven different Korean craft beers to choose from, all of them made in collaboration with Korean breweries, as well as Singapore’s very own Brewerkz.
We tried the popular Seoul Weizen ($14++) and K-Festbier ($14++), which paired perfectly with our fried chicken.
My colleague preferred the Seoul Weizen thanks to the smooth profile. This wheat beer is on the milder side, and tempers down any spicy dishes really well. I encourage you to get this if you’re not big on strong alcoholic beverages!
Then there’s my faovurite, the K-Festbier. Though a little more intense than the Seoul Weizen, there’s a distinct caramelly flavour that gives this beer a bittersweet aftertaste. It’s also slightly malty, which gave the craft beer more body.
