9Toast Cafe has taro latte and tamago sando in Dhoby Ghaut
If you love taro desserts, you’ll want in on this: 9Toast is a new cafe in Dhoby Ghaut offering innovative orh nee-infused desserts including taro latte.
The cosy cafe is located on the ground floor of Singapore Shopping Centre, which is also home to the local bakery L’eclair Patisserie.

If you’re visiting via public transport, it’s an easy five-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.
A must-try on the menu is the Purple Haze Latte ($7.90), made with taro, purple sweet potato, and milk. The drink leans milky, so we only recommend this if you love dairy.
FYI, 9Toast’s orh nee is prepared in-store every day; fresh taro and sweet potato are steamed to create a lusciously smooth and thick paste that’s naturally sweet. No colouring, preservative, or flavouring is added, too!
To pair with your drinks, get their Chicken Katsu Sando ($15.50), which comes packed with a thick, deep-fried chicken patty and lettuce with a nice layer of sweet-savoury sauce.
Alternatively, their Creamy Tamago Sando ($12.50) is a great lunch choice for those working or studying in the area. It comes loaded with egg salad sandwiched between two thick slices of Japanese milk bread.
Wash everything down with a refreshing Yuzu Green Tea ($6.50) or Passionfruit Honey Tea ($6.50). Else, enjoy the Black Sesame Matcha ($7.50), starring an earthy and nutty combination of flavours. This will only be available till February 2025, so enjoy it while you can.
