Snowsand has a pop-up in Singapore with Japan-famous snacks
Fresh off the press: Hokkaido’s popular confectionery brand, Snowsand, is set to launch in Singapore very soon. Officially named “Snows” in Japan, the winter-exclusive brand is running a pop-up from now till 26 December 2024, at Takashimaya Basement 2 Food Hall.

Snowsand’s confectioneries are made with pasture milk sourced from their free-range farm in Hokkaido. According to the brand, the cows feed on more fermented hay and corn feed during winter, resulting in a creamier and richer-tasting milk.
At this new pop-up store, you’ll find their signature Snowsand Chocolate Sandwich, priced at $22 for a box of eight individually wrapped pieces. You can choose from two flavours: Shiro (white chocolate) and Kuro (dark chocolate).
If you’re getting them as a present, we recommend going for the Signature Gift Box ($53), which comes with 16 individually wrapped cookies: eight Shiro, eight Kuro.
These cookie sandwiches are made from premium ingredients from Japan, including winter-produced pasture milk, Hokkaido butter, and Japanese flour. You get a Langue de Chat, a French-style cookie that’s thin, crisp, and sweet, sandwiching a smooth and creamy chocolate filling made with Hokkaido milk.

Each cookie is baked at high temperatures between hot iron plates, resulting in a superior, crispier texture compared to oven-baking. The crispy cookie tastes even better thanks to the smooth chocolate cream sandwiched in the middle.
Snowsand fans can also look forward to the Snowball Chocolate Truffles at the Taka pop-up. These are priced at $16 for a box of nine.
Each truffle features a decadent yet soft chocolate exterior encasing fresh Hokkaido cream in the middle. The cream in the centre boasts a milky flavour without being too sweet, while the cocoa powder coating gives the treat a bittersweet touch.
We foresee a queue forming at the pop-up, so we recommend visiting them earlier in the day to get your chocolate fix.
While you’re there, check out The Whale Tea, which also just opened at Takashimaya. The popular bubble tea chain from China has a new pistachio series! Otherwise, read our guide to the best food in Orchard for more recommendations in the area.
