Ume San 100 has new konbini-inspired lunch sets

Behind the nostalgic facade of Fortune Centre lies plenty of hidden gems, from affordable Korean food to handmade Japanese onigiri and traditional Chinese tong sui. Now, there’s one more reason to visit the strata mall: Ume San 100 has recently released a new lunch set, alongside other exciting menu items.
Ume San 100: New Japanese Bar Hidden Behind Vending Machines Has SG’s Largest Umeshu Collection
ICYMI: Ume San 100 is a Japanese speakeasy bar, and its iconic vending machine storefront is hard to miss. You’ll spot it almost immediately upon reaching the second floor, as it’s brightly lit and colourfully eye-catching.

Frequent Japan-goers would know that convenience stores, AKA konbinis, are a must-visit in Japan. The bar has given its lunch menu a konbini-inspired spin, introducing familiar treats as part of its all-new Konbini Set ($19.90++).

One highlight is the Truffle Ramen, topped with prawns, a jammy hanjuku egg, and fish cakes for a classic yet hearty bowl of ramen.
Since no konbini haul is complete without a drink, each set comes with Ume Cola that’s made with ume syrup and house-made cola for a fizzy staple. If you prefer something more hardcore, top up $5 to add whisky or vodka to your cola for a “grown-up” upgrade.

A must-order at any kobini would be the fried chicken or Umechiki, which is also part of the lineup. Guests get to opt for a spicy or non-spicy set, and the chosen spice level will apply to both the ramen and Umechiki.
The set also comprises Crispy Fries, with both sides being served in a striped paper sleeve, just like the ones in Japan.
To add on to the fun, every konbini set comes with a Japanese-style receipt, allowing diners to try their luck at the Gachapon machine for some enticing rewards. Prize value varies based on capsule colours: Gold entitles diners to 10% off their next visit ($30 min. spend), Silver offers a free highball or mocktail with any main, Green provides a free Fruit Tasting Set ($70 min. spend), and Black awards a $25 return voucher ($100 min. spend).

Besides the Konbini Set, the eatery is also expanding its dinner menu with three new fusion dishes. Mentaiko Pasta with Seared Scallops ($22++) for a Japanese take on the Italian staple, Spicy Beef Ramen ($18++) comprising bold Sichuan-inspired flavours, as well as Foie Gras Bara Chirashi Don ($24++), which sees French foie gras and salmon, tuna, and tamago atop a bed of sushi rice.

You can also explore Ume San 100’s extensive selection of Japanese umeshu, AKA plum wine. Their collection is said to be one of Singapore’s largest, boasting over 100 varieties with rare and exclusive labels. If you’re new here, go for the Low-ABV Taster Set ($15++) that features three floral-infused umeshu flavours: Rose, Lavender, and Jasmine.
Fans of the tall, carbonated mixed alcohol highball would be pleased to know that they offer 13 different choices, including Ume Whisky ($14++), Premium Toki Highball ($15++) and more.

Much like the izakayas in Japan, the seating capacity is cozy but rather limited, with 28 seats on the floor and six by the bar, so it’s best to book ahead or come down early to get a table.
