Bakso Bibik Podas has giant bakso meatballs in Tampines
There aren’t many places in Singapore that specialise in bakso. That’s why I was stoked about discovering Bakso Bibik Podas, a home-based business that sells XXL bakso stuffed with chilli, beef brisket, cheese and more! Better yet for fellow Easties, they’re located in the Tampines North neighbourhood!

In case you’re not familiar, bakso is an Indonesian meatball made of chicken or beef, typically served with a hearty broth and noodles. They’re usually larger than the usual Chinese-style meatballs; in fact, the jumbo bakso by Bakso Bibik Podas are almost palm-sized.

Those who can take spice should definitely go for the Bakso Mercun Melecet ($15). This hearty bowl of noodles comes with five regular beef balls, one jumbo ball stuffed with brisket and chilli, and a rich beef soup. It’s on the spicy side, so do tread with caution! Everything is packed separately so the noodles don’t turn soggy, too.

Otherwise, order the Bakso Beranak ($15), which swaps out the chilli for brisket and baby balls instead. Each serving also comes with fresh veggies and an uber spicy chilli sauce to stir into your soup, should you wish to take things up a notch.

There’s even a cheese-stuffed meatball option if you get the Bakso Jejaka ($15)! The star of this dish is a jumbo beef ball with a creamy mozzarella centre, served with five meatballs, noodles, and condiments.
The popular home-based business has amassed a strong presence on social media with over 13,000 IG followers. They take orders on WhatsApp—you can DM them via the link in their IG bio—and on their web store.
