Cafe Monochrome is a new 2D cafe in Bugis
Cafe Monochrome, known as Singapore’s first 2D concept cafe, has reopened its original outlet in Bugis!
Previously located in Jalan Besar, this new incarnation of the cafe has the usual hand-drawn designs dotted throughout its space.
While the space alone is certainly Instagram-worthy, we reckon the fare here is worth your attention, too.
If you’re here for brunch, you can enjoy dishes such as the Smoked Salmon Rosti ($21+): crispy rosti, smoked salmon slices, scrambled eggs, and greens make up this wholesome dish. Pair this dish with some of the cafe’s pick-me-ups, including Latte (from $6+), Uji Matcha Latte (from $7.50+), and Hot Chocolate ($6.50+).
For a hearty main, we recommend the Laksa Crayfish Udon ($23+). Here, silky udon noodles are drenched in a fragrant and coconutty laksa sauce, and topped with reasonably fresh crayfish.
Finish your meal with the decadent Biscoff Hotcakes (from $11+), featuring fluffy pancakes smothered with sweet Biscoff crumbles and ice cream.
This new Cafe Monochrome is a short five-minute walk from Rochor MRT Station. There are many other must-try food places in the area, including Kopi 1930, a stylish Nanyang cafe, and 3 Meals a Day, which is known for their salted egg chicken rice.
