Shortly after featuring Sugar Belly’s matcha on tap, we came across Coffee 2050, a new Japanese cafe along Beach Road. In case you didn’t know, the Kyoto brand blew up all over social media for their drinks on tap and futuristic look.
This latest outpost is headed by the same team behind Kurasu Singapore, sporting the same sleek and minimalist interiors.
You’ll find a great range of Tap Coffee ($7.50), featuring high-quality beans that are ethically and sustainably sourced and produced.
All you need to do is place your cup under the tap and it’ll automatically dispense your coffee! Options include their 2050 House Blend, a dark roast featuring orange peel and dark chocolate flavours, and a lighter Ethiopian brew with passionfruit notes.
We also enjoyed the Mexican brew, which was light on the palate with notes of apple, green grapes, and poached pear.

We’re not sure how often the drinks on tap rotate, so you can check 2050 Coffee’s IG page for the latest news.
If you prefer espresso-based coffee, consider their Americano (from $5.50) or Latte (from $6.50) instead.
If you love a good matcha latte as much as we do, Coffee 2050 also offers Iced Matcha Latte ($7.50)Â on tap, made with premium matcha powder from Kyoto. We found this drink to be on the sweet and milky side; we would have preferred a stronger-tasting matcha.
Coffee 2050 is a 10-minute walk from Bugis or Nicoll Highway MRT Station.
