Hougang has become a dessert haven in recent days, with the opening of new stores such as Sweedy Patisserie last month. Residents here are in for another sweet treat: Denzy Gelato, an award-winning gelato store, is joining the fray with their latest launch that’s now open!

If you’re wondering how legit their gelato is, Denzy Gelato’s co-founder travelled to Italy to learn the art of making artisanal gelato. After this, he won the Singapore Gelato Championship in 2019, earning the title of “Singapore’s Best Gelato”. All of their gelato is churned in-house with quality ingredients, so your scoops are guaranteed to be fresh and tasty.

Denzy Gelato - scooping

Denzy Gelato offers an extensive selection of gelato flavours to choose from. You can select from their specialty collection including Piedmont Hazelnut and Whisky and Salted Pecan Brittle, or go for sorbets such as Strawberry White Peach and Oat Milk Dark Chocolate Ganache. For something exotic, try their premium selection where you can get Brown Butter Pecan, Orange Chocolate and more!

Prices for their ice cream start from $4.20 for a single scoop, and $7.50 for a double. For premium flavours, you’ll have to top up an additional $1 a scoop.

A must-try here is their award-winning Pear, Ginger, Ginger Flower flavour. This unique combination is richly flavoured, with the zestiness of the ginger complementing the fruity sweetness of pear for a refreshing treat.

Another one of their popular flavours is the Roasted Bronte Pistachio, which stars roasted pistachio imported from the famed Bronte region in Italy, and boasts an intense earthy flavour.

Denzy Gelato - ice cream with waffles

We highly recommend getting your gelato with their signature Waffles ($5.80). The waffles are said to be airy and have a light crisp, which pairs well with the gelato, allowing its flavour to shine.

Alternatively, you can pair your gelato with their house-made Brownie ($6.30), which is said to feature a rich chocolate centre and crisp layer of crust on top.
