Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant has marinated crab in Tanjong Pagar
There’s a plethora of Korean restaurants in Singapore, and with so many options to choose from, it can be quite a challenge to decide where to dine at. Here comes the newly renovated Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant, perfect for those looking for something different from the usual Korean fare. Plus, it’s a mere four-minute walk away from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station!

The menu here sees an extensive range of Korean stews, noodles, and barbecued pork and beef. Among the many items, their Yukhoe Bibim Naengmyeon ($23++) caught our attention as this dish is a rare find in Singapore. It features cold buckwheat noodles mixed with spicy sauce, and topped with a generous amount of beef tartare, AKA yukhoe. Not forgetting half a hard-boiled egg on the side—this is a must-have in naengmyeon.

There’s also the Yukhoe Bibimbap ($25++), which boasts a colourful combination of carrots, zucchini, soybean sprout, spinach, mushrooms, radish slices, and beef tartare. And of course, a fried egg as the finishing touch to bibimbap.

Even better, you can find raw marinated crab here—something that isn’t available in many Korean restaurants as it requires a lot of time and skills to perfect. You can choose between their Ganjang Gejang Set ($23++) and Yangnyeom Gejang Set ($23++); the former features raw crab marinated in soy sauce, while the latter is marinated in a spicy sauce. Each set comes with either a kimchi stew or soybean paste stew!

If you’re an adventurous foodie who wants to venture beyond grilled pork belly, we recommend their Makchang ($32++), AKA the large intestine of the pork. There’s also Yangnyeom Makchang ($35++), which features the same cut that’s marinated in a spicy sauce instead. You’ll love this if you enjoy pork offal!
