There’s a new Korean restaurant in town, and from what we’ve seen so far, it looks to be a delicious and wallet-friendly spot to check out. Hankang Pocha in Tanjong Pagar calls itself “The Most Affordable Korean Pocha” on Google Maps, and given that many of its mains are under $20, we can’t disagree.

Take the hot plate dishes, for instance. If you are a fan of meat or seafood sizzled to perfection, you can get either the Hot Plate Chicken / Pork, Hot Plate Sabah Fish, or Hot Plate Squid, all of which will set you back just $14 each.

For a soup dish, Hankang Pocha has a few value-for-money options as well. The most affordable of these is the basic Kimchi Stew ($12), whose piquant flavour and hearty goodness will warm you up. You can also get the Seafood Tofu Stew ($18), Soybean Paste Stew ($12), and Beef Tendon Soup ($20).

As for rice dishes, Hankang Pocha has two options: the Cheese Kimchi Fried Rice ($12) and the Rice Balls ($10 for six). You can’t go wrong with the former, as the mixture of spicy and tangy kimchi with creamy and rich cheese is always a delightful combination.

Hankang Pocha also has a solid lineup of noodle dishes, including the classic Korean Jajangmyeon ($12), Hankang Ramen (from $8), and Korean Cold Noodles ($16).

The restaurant also offers KBBQ sets, starting from $68 for two to three persons. If you’re looking for your next Korean eatery to check out, Hankang Pocha’s affordable and varied options make it a pretty strong contender.
