Kuih keria, a Malay doughnut made with sweet potato instead of regular dough, is already a snack perfect for those with a sweet tooth. At K’s Keria, however, they make their mini kuih keria even more decadent with the addition of fragrant gula melaka—and they claim to be the first in Singapore to offer it!

K’s Keria has two outlets: one in Our Tampines Hub, and the other in the Kampong Glam area near Bugis.

It’s a takeaway-only situation at these outlets. You can either buy the mini keria in a Box of 10 ($7) or a staggering Box of 44 ($28).

A few of my Malay colleagues have claimed K’s Keria makes the best keria in the country, and after trying a few of these myself, I can see why. These doughnuts are small—roughly smaller than the palm of your hand—but they are packed with aroma and flavour.

Slightly crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside, each ring possesses the starchy goodness of sweet potato and the addictive fragrance of gula melaka. While it’s undeniably sweet, it isn’t excessively so, which means you can enjoy a few of these without getting too jelak.

Aside from sweet potato doughnuts, K’s Keria offers some traditional snacks that you may want to bring home as well. These include crackers such as Keropok Ikan ($12), Inang ($6) crackers and more.
