Lucky Saigon Cafe in Tanglin is a hidden gem Vietnamese cafe

For a dining experience like no other, visit Lucky Saigon Cafe, a Vietnamese cafe on Tanglin Road with a spacious outdoor patio, sprawling garden, and mini waterfall. This photogenic spot is somewhat of a hidden gem, as its lush settings and out-of-the-city vibes are hard to come by for its near-central location—the cafe is a 12-minute walk or three-minute bus ride from Redhill MRT Station.

Classic Vietnamese fare is served here, including the likes of Beef Combo Pho ($13.80++) and Stewed Beef Banh Mi ($12.50++). The former features beef balls, beef tendon, and beef slices, with rich noodles and a light broth. Wash it down with a cup of Vietnamese Milk Coffee (from $4.90++), served hot or iced to beat the heat.

Don’t forget to order a platter of All Season Spring Rolls ($13.50++), which comes with a mix of fresh and fried spring rolls, to share. There are even barbecued items to order if you’re in the mood to splurge; the BBQ Seafood Platter ($68.90++) is popular among larger groups.

The spacious restaurant has a greenhouse-like setting with a grass lawn and draping plants hanging from above. Dining is alfresco, but you won’t have to worry much about the heat as there are large ceiling fans to keep patrons cool.

There’s also a mini waterfall and bridge near the entrance, along with a bird enclosure for you to explore! Just be warned: online reviews report lots of mosquitoes in the area, so make sure you bring along some insect repellent.
