Many noteworthy dessert brands have been setting up shop in Singapore lately, from popular Japanese doughnut chain Mister Donut to chocolate cafe Dipndip, which has over 140 outlets across 19 countries. Now, there’s another new addition to the scene: Lukumades, a famous Australian chain known for their Greek doughnuts.

The Australian brand has multiple outlets in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan. They specialise in loukoumades, which are bite-sized Greek doughnut balls. These vegan doughnuts are available in a wide range of toppings and sauces, so you can customise your snack to your liking.

The smallest size is half tray ($8.50), which gets you five balls. Otherwise, for the full experience, get the whole tray, priced from $12 for 10 balls. Matcha ($12) is a popular flavour— this features fresh doughnut balls coated in matcha-infused white chocolate, sprinkled with more green tea powder on top. You can expect a mochi-like doughnut that’s really chewy on the inside, paired with a dense and creamy sauce that’s mildly sweet and milky. We recommend sharing this treat with a friend as you might find them a tad cloying towards the end.

Fans love their Pistachio ($13) flavour too, which comprises creamy pistachio spread and chocolate flakes. If you want it extra nutty, top up $1 for pistachio bits! Other must-tries are the Bueno ($13)—which uses melted hazelnut sauce, drizzled milk chocolate, and crushed biscuit. If you’re feeling spoilt for choice, go for the Half Half ($15), which gets you two flavours in one box!

Lukumades Singapore also offers gelato that’s perfect for the afternoon heat, with flavours such as Pistachio, Salted Caramel, and Mango Passion Sorbet. Each scoop costs $5! The gelato here is on the thicker and creamier side, so it’s great for those who enjoy a rich and smooth mouthfeel.
