My Korean Mom’s Kimchi opens in Century Square
When we last featured My Korean Mom’s Kimchi in 2020, the brand was but a fledgling home-based business run by a mother-and-sun duo. Fast forward to the present, and the brand now runs a family restaurant in NEWest Mall, and, most recently, a new Express takeaway outlet in Century Square.
This latest East-side opening sees My Korean Mom’s Kimchi offer all their affordable Korean dishes for takeaway, including their handmade banchan. Most of their menu is priced under $15 nett. What’s more: they’re offering 50% off their banchan for the whole month of March to celebrate their opening.
My Korean Mom’s Kimchi: Legit Handmade Kimchi And Gimbap Made By A Korean Ahjumma
For a quick and easy meal, try their Signature Gimbap, priced from $8.90. This is available in nine flavours, including Original, Vegetarian Eggroll, and Ebi Prawn.Â
If just kimbap alone isn’t enough, they’ve got a menu of sides, from Tteokbokki ($6.90) to Boneless Korean Fried Chicken (from $8), in flavours such as Snow Cheese and Spicy Gochujang.Â
For a heartier meal, the kiosk also has a range of stews and dosirak, AKA Korean bento boxes.
On the former, expect comforting solo stews, such as classic Sundubu Jjigae ($10.90) and Army Stew ($11.90). All sets come with rice.
As for bentos, choose from the likes of their Fried Chicken Dosriak ($9.90), Marinated Bulgolgi Beef ($10.90) and more. Each comes with rice, a protein, and banchan.Â
Finally, if you want to stock up on your banchan stash at home, do it before their promo ends! Get a 450g tub of their Signature Homemade Kimchi Cabbage for only $7.50 (U.P. $15), for example, or their crunchy Soy Anchovies with Peanuts for $9 (U.P. $18). We’ve tried the former and can testify that the kimchi here is fresh, flavourful, and has a bit of a zing. Their kimchi is also made without MSG!
