There’s another reason to cross the border this weekend—to get the viral Pandan Yam Layer Cake at popular JB bakery Ming Ang Confectionery!
The new cake rose to internet fame recently, with Ming Ang Confectionery’s Instagram post garnering over 1,400 likes on their page.
As the cake is handmade fresh, it’s only available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, for a limited time. You can find it at the bakery’s City Square and Bukit Indah outlets.

Each round costs RM31, which works out to around S$9.60. You get a pandan chiffon cake sandwiching thick yam layers in between. The cake is said to be light and fluffy with a discernible pandan fragrance, pairing well with the cream orh nee middle.
