2. Lokkee
At Lokkee, you can expect zhng-ed up versions of familiar Chinese fare. Staples such as hor fun and laziji are given a Western touch to become Wagyu Truffle Hor Fun (from $33.80++) and Firecracker Chicken Nest ($28++). The former comprises flat rice noodles topped with juicy strips of A4 Wagyu beef, and a soft poached egg for a savoury punch. 3. Barossa
Located in Esplanade Mall, Barossa is a bar where you can crack open a cold one with the lads, and nom on delish Australian-inspired grub. The Signature Barossa Ribs ($24++ for half, $38++ for a full rack) is great for sharing, thanks to its large portions. Every inch of meat is covered with honey barbecue marinade which lends to its juiciness. Try out the Cheese Burger ($14++), assembled with toasted soft buns, freshly made patty, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, gherkin and cheddar. 6. Akimitsu
Hailing from Japan, Akimitsu has over 130 years of history and is a popular tendon restaurant in Singapore. One of the best items on their menu is the Akimitsu Tendon ($12.90++) where huge portions of battered fish, prawn, and greens crown a bed of fluffy Japanese rice. The tempura is unctuous and comes in such generous portions that you could probably share it with a friend. Step into Fairmont Singapore, and you’ll immediately see Prego. Helmed by a Sardinian chef with over 40 years of experience, this restaurant serves legit Italian nosh such as the Stinco di agnello alla Sassarese ($42++) and Pappardelle Ripiene ($34++). The former comprises uber filling stewed lamb shank cooked with fennel seeds and green lentils, and is served with sweet semolina cake.
