Pop-Up Sesame Street Cafe At Bugis From 26 September to 29 December 2019

12th September 2019

Sesame Street x Kumoya Cafe at Bugis

Inside of cafe

A sunny day is about to sweep the clouds away ‘cause you’ll finally know how to get to Sesame Street. Come 26 September 2019, the 50-year old franchise will be partnering with Kumoya to bring to you a Sesame Street pop-up cafe!

Just like the My Little Pony and Pusheen collaborations, the cafe will be doling food themed after Elmo, Big Bird and the rest of the gang. In addition to that, the entire space will be filled with Sesame Street decorations, including a giant Cookie Monster banner!

Kumoya

Here’s what you can expect there.

Elmo Rice

Elmo fans will love the ABCD and E for Elmo Japanese Seafood Curry Rice ($26.90+) that sports tomato-infused rice, shaped after the cute red munchkin. Accompanying the dish is a myriad of seafood such as breaded ebi, breaded calamari, and tempura salmon. The string of alphabets in the dish’s name isn’t just for show either; the dish is topped with alphabet-shaped cheese for a dash of kawaii.

Green Burger on a trash can

Oscar may be a grouch but his teriyaki chicken katsu burger ($24.90+) is no slouch. Served in a mini trash can, the concoction comprises a chicken katsu patty sandwiched between striking green matcha mantou buns. Completing the set are curly fries and loads of fresh greens for well-balanced flavours.

Big Bird Soda

Quench your thirst with the Big Bird “I’m a bird” Mango Tango Soda ($15.90+) that contains fresh mango and passion fruit, mixed in soda. It’s then topped with a large Big Bird cotton candy that’s worthy of everyone’s favourite eight-foot tall canary. You’ll also get one of four limited-edition coasters which come in designs including Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster.

Pouring milk into a cookie cup

Speaking of Cookie Monster, it would be sacrilegious for his dish to not be cookie-themed. Thankfully, the Cookie Monster’s Cookie Shot With Matcha Milk ($14.90+) checks off this box with an edible cookie cup which you can pour decadent matcha milk in. Best of all, the set comes with a free five-inch Cookie Monster plush—making it extremely value for money.

Giant Plushie

For a greater reason to splash the cash, spend a minimum of $128 on a single receipt and you’ll stand a chance to win a giant Cookie Monster plush that’s about a metre tall—roughly the size of a kid!

Merchandise

So if you’re ready to recapture your childhood or are just looking for a place to dine with the entire fambam, make a date to Kumoya once 26 September hits! Do note that a minimum spending of $10 per person applies. While you’re in the area, be sure to check out Tipo for customisable pasta with escargot!
