Bugis Junction is a treasure trove of hidden food gems. One new addition to the mall is Shinfuni, loosely translated from their Chinese name 幸芙妮 (xìng fú nÄ«). This Taiwanese-style bakery is run by the same team behind Kazo, which explains why you’ll find similar-looking bakes here.

The Shinfuni Signature Hokkaido Cream Apple Pie ($3.80) comes highly recommended. Exclusively available at Shinfuni, this pastry features buttery, flaky layers with a rich Hokkaido cream and apple chunks within. You can also get four for $14, which works out to $3.50 per piece.

The French Brulee Bun ($2.60) is another must-try. You get a soft baked bun stuffed with a generous amount of custard and lightly torched on top for a caramelised sweetness.

Otherwise, go for their popular Cream Puffs AKA Kazu Kazu, which are a best-seller at Kazo. Here, they’re available in seasonal flavours such as Burnt Caramel Cream (price TBD) and Crispy Durian Cream ($3.50). These puffs are light and airy, bursting with rich filling.

Otherwise, grab a Golden Horn Croissant ($2.20) if you’re up for something simple. This baked treat is said to be fluffy on the inside, pairing well with salted butter and jam.

We also spotted a Taro Orh Nee Donut ($3.80) on Shinfuni’s website, which has the full list of bakes on offer. To avoid disappointment, do order online beforehand and collect your treats at the store! Most of the items are under $5 too, so you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank here.
