There’s A Giant Yishun Pasar Malam Food Street Running Till 2 October

Calling all Northies and pasar malam lovers, it is time to head down to Yishun MRT Station. It’s recently become home to a giant Food Street night market, which promises a staggering amount of food options, including plenty of Muslim-friendly stalls.

We all know the best part of a pasar malam is the food, which makes this Yishun opening all the more worth going down to visit. According to their organisers, there are over 50 stalls on site, with traditional pasar malam fare and trendy eats on the menu.

Every pasar malam worth its salt will have stalls selling takoyaki, tornado potatoes, tutu kueh, XXL Taiwanese chicken chop, sweet potato balls, oyster pancakes, and Ramly burgers, to name a few.

You get all of these and more at the Yishun Food Street, on top of stalls you’d commonly find at Ramadan bazaars.

Highlights include corn dogs and apam balik by bazaar fave Charkoi, lekor topped with a variety of sauces by Jom Lekor, flavoured beignets by TikTok-famous Halal Beignets, mini Dutch baby pancakes by Cake Love, and mini coin pratas by COIN Love.

You can definitely swing by to enjoy a full meal here, as there are stalls selling mains, from Thai food to Chinese eats. There’s also a Mala Skewers stall that has generated a fair amount of buzz for their piquant chuan chuan skewers.

DLLM Lok Lok - preparation

Look out for the lok lok stall on site for peak JB vibes. Also swing by Noi Noi Sausages if you’re craving American-style hotdogs, served on toasted buns.

With so many stalls to pick from, Yishun Food Street is definitely the place to feast at if you’re swinging by the area anytime before 2 October 2022. Here’s us crossing fingers we get to see a pasar malam of a similar scale appear in other neighbourhoods too.
