Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and what’s a better way to show your mum some appreciation than by treating her to a delicious meal? If, however, like the rest of us, you aren’t exactly ballin’, here are some top Mother’s Day restaurant deals we’ve found.
Some of these places have free meals for mum – even free buffets – while others offer free food as long as there are several other paying diners. If you’re not into buffets, there are plenty of other promotions to make the best of, and you’re bound to find something here that’ll appeal to the entire family!
1. PORTAÂ
Bring your mum to PORTA’s Mother’s Day Semi-Buffet Lunch if she has epicurean taste buds, and she’ll get to dine free with three paying adults. Highlights of the buffet include Channel Bass & Risotto, Roasted Duroc Pork, and 48-hour Short Ribs. Bring along some coloured pens and markers, write a message to your mum in one of their special Mother’s Day card, and stand a chance to win a weekend staycation at Park Hotel Clarke Quay!  Â

2. MONTI Â
MONTI offers a luxurious Brunch Buffet ($90++ onwards per pax) that is made complete with the scenic Marina Bay skyline. On 14 May, all mums are entitled to some special perks in celebration of Mother’s Day. If you have a mother at your table, you’ll get to enjoy a complimentary Fruitti De Mare (a seafood platter with lobster) that’s limited to one per table. Mums will also get a free glass of Mimosa Cocktail and free boat rides around the bay upon request! Â

3. Spices Cafe Â
On the Mother’s Day weekend, Spices Cafe is offering all mums a free Harvest of the Sea Buffet Dinner ($58++ adult, $22++ child). Expect a variety of seafood dishes – including at least six crab dishes such as Chilli Crab, Sambal Crab, and Salted Egg Crab – or enjoy their fresh seafood on ice. On top of that, each diner can pick a complimentary serving of Braised Baby Abalone with Broccoli and Mushroom, or 200g Lobster with your choice of either cheese, mentaiko or mushroom sauce. The only catch is the prerequisite of at least three paying adults for this promotion to stand.

4. Spuds & Aprons Â
For something more memorable, hop onto a cable car from VivoCity and head to Spuds and Aprons, which is located on the top of Faber Peak. Alternatively, if heights aren’t your thing, just take a drive there. They’ve decided to extend Mother’s Day to the entire month, so for the month of May, mums can enjoy 30% off their main courses from the ‘Eat like a Horse’ section in their menu. On the Mother’s Day weekend itself, mums will receive a complimentary signature main course, provided there are three other main courses purchased.

5. 21 on Rajah
21 on Rajah is bringing out two special buffet promotions just for mum. Their Mediterr-Asian Brunch Buffet ($40++ for adults, $20++ children) will run from 12pm to 3pm, while their Middle Eastern BBQ Dinner Buffet ($48++ for adults, $24++ for children) will happen from 6pm to 10:30pm. Both buffets will be available from 12 to 14 May. Mothers get to dine free with every three paying diners, and if you head down on 14 May, nail treatment vouchers will be given out alongside a free polaroid photo of your fambam to celebrate the moment.

6. Little House of Dreams  Â
On Mother’s Day itself, Little House of Dreams will have a special Mother’s Day Buffet ($58 for adults, $28 for children) where your mum gets to dine free with three paying adults. The buffet spread includes an array of their signature desserts and cakes, such as Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake and macarons. Savoury options are also available, and includes my favourite Greek Salad. For a top-notch surprise, sneak away halfway through the buffet to the Complimentary Flower Bar and pick your own flowers to present mum with a bouquet at the end of the meal!

7. Street 50 Restaurant & Bar
If your mum loves hawker food, bring her to Street 50 Restaurant & Bar’s Weekend Lunch Buffet (U.P. $$42++ for adults, $20++ for children) this Mother’s Day weekend. Featuring hawker fare that comes with a twist, this buffet offers dishes such as Chicken Char Siew Shawarma. Mums will get to enjoy the buffet free with three other paying adults, and also receive a $20 return voucher.

8. Barashi-Tei
For the entire month of May, Barashi-Tei is offering all mums – including grandmas – 50% off set meals, provided you pay the bill. If your mum, like mine, is a fan of soup, order Tara Nabe Teishoku ($26++) to share. This has bubbling soup in a clay pot chockful of ingredients such as cod, silken tofu, and vegetables. Beef lovers must not miss Wagyu Don ($38.80++), which has melt-in-your-mouth beef slices and a wobbly onsen egg atop fluffy rice.

9. Fika Swedish Cafe and Bistro  Â
If your momma is artsy like Princess Mia’s mother in The Princess Diaries, head down to Fika Swedish Cafe and Bistro for a Mother’s Day Brush Calligraphy Workshop ($340 for 2 people). The workshop, held in collaboration with Naiise, is held on 27 May at 2pm, and includes materials such as notes, a watercolour palette, and brushes. Mum and you will also get to enjoy a main course and a drink from Fika Cafe for free, and choices for the former include the crowd-favourite Swedish Meatballs (U.P. $19++).

10. Saveur Â
From 6 to 14 May, Saveur is extending a Mother’s Day Special to all customers. Simply bring your mum down, and enjoy 15% off their three-course Lunch Set (U.P. $22.90++) and Dinner Set (U.P. $29.90++). The latter is definitely the more sumptuous of the two, and includes Foie Gras as one of its appetiser options, as well as Pistachio Panna Cotta for dessert.  A new drink, Serai Collins, will also be launched on Mother’s Day itself and you can get first dibs with a top-up of $2 along with every set ordered.
