Ghim Moh Market & Food Centre may be a 12- to 20-minute walk from the nearest MRT stations, but that doesn’t stop throngs of people visiting the hawker centre for the good food under its roof. One of the longest queues you’ll find here is at Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck, which has held its Michelin Bib Gourmand award almost every year since 2018!

On to the food: you can’t visit Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck and not order a portion of their signature lor ark, AKA braised duck in in Teochew. Get their Set, priced from $4, for the full works of brown, flavoured rice, a serving of boneless duck, as well as stewed peanuts, tau kwa, and half a braised egg. The final touch is a ladle full of their thick, slightly starchy braising liquid that gives the plate a final, glossy finish.

Should you have tried the rice, another option to go for is their Duck Noodle or Duck Kway Teow (from $4), served with that unctuous gravy, with their lightly herbal soup on the side.

Similarly priced are their Duck Rice and Duck Porridge, though you can always top up to add on more meat.
