With Chinese New Year just around the corner, the time is ripe to stock up on some goodies. One of the best places to do so is Takashimaya’s Lunar New Year Festive Celebration fair, which returns on 27 January 2025—there is plenty of time for you to do your CNY shopping.

As usual, you’ll find the fair at Basement 2 of Takashimaya Square with more than 70 brands of festive snacks and seasonal delights. Many of these brands have brought unique flavours to spice up your CNY snack rotation.

One of the top brands to look out for is Mdm Ling Bakery, known for its wide variety of cookies.

At their booth, you’ll find classics such as Butter Cookies ($21.80) and Premium Pineapple Balls ($21.80), as well as more exotic flavours including Hojicha Butter Cookies ($21.80) and Pandan Pineapple Balls ($23.80).

Check out their Fortune Kueh Lapis (from $48) as well—these gorgeously layered buttery cakes are crowned with the 福 (fortune) character, and are elegantly crafted from real prunes.

Artisanal bakery La Levain also has a booth packed with snack options here. We reckon older folks will enjoy picks such as Osmanthus Pineapple Balls ($28.80) and Macadamia Butter Cookies ($26.80), which put fragrant twists on their respective snacks.

Meanwhile, those looking for more decadent options can opt for the Fleur de Cao 70% with Fleur de Sel Cookies ($28.80) or the locally-inspired Satay Cookies ($24.80).

Pastry brand Kele is bringing their A-game this year with their new lineup of snacks, several of which are made in collaboration with some pretty big names. The most exciting of these is the Pokemon Collection (from $67.60), which sees their signature pineapple tarts and balls packaged in adorable Pokemon-themed tin cans.

They’ve also got two pineapple balls made in collaboration with Whittard of Chelsea, namely the Mango & Bergamot Pineapple Balls ($38.80) and Earl Grey Pineapple Balls ($38.80). We reckon these treats would appeal to both tea enthusiasts and those with a sweet tooth.

Speaking of tea, Tily Tea has a booth selling all-natural herbal blends that could go perfectly with your goodies. We recommend trying their CNY special Golden Blossoms ($23.90) tea, made with ingredients such as osmanthus, snow chrysanthemum, Mandarin peel and more, all of which work together to quell heatiness.
