5. Nguan Express 88: $1.90 chicken rice

We might have found the cheapest chicken rice in Singapore. Located in  Ang Mo Kio, Nguan Express 88 is a nondescript stall that sees long lines daily thanks to its $1.90 chicken rice. While you don’t get to choose your preferred cut, we found this chicken rice decent, especially for its price. The rice was moist and flavourful, though there were some dry, hardened bits. You also get a good portion of thinly sliced chicken meat, best paired with the packet of chilli sauce served on the side. For $1.90, we can’t complain.

For legit ramen that doesn’t break the bank, visit Kyoto Ramen Hachicken at Chinatown Point.
