LULI has TCM milk tea at Marina Square
We’ve seen all kinds of milk tea over the years, from KOI’s peanut butter milk tea to Takagi Ramen’s cockles bubble tea are just two examples. But we’ve never come across anything like LULI at Marina Square. This famous Chinese brand has over 400 outlets across China, specialising in beverages infused with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Â

You’ll see a line of TCM concoctions displayed in huge glass jars, made with health-beneficial ingredients. For the sceptical, the herbal products at LULI are backed by TCM practitioners.
The brand is known for their ginseng drinks, so we got a cup of Lingzhi Dragon Ginseng ($9.80), alongside the Roselle Digestive ($5.50) for something more refreshing. What’s interesting about the Lingzhi Dragon Ginseng is its presentation—the milk tea comes in a regular paper cup and a rattan-like holder, and is topped with a plastic lid that allows you to poke your straw through.Â
Taste-wise, the bitter and earthy flavours of ginseng are prominent at first, but are eventually mellowed by the fresh milk and tea. To put it simply, it tastes healthy and herby.
The Roselle Digestive is a good alternative if ginseng milk tea sounds a tad intimidating.Â
This sweet, refreshing drink is made with plum, hawthorn, roselle, licorice root, and dried tangerine peel. It’s said to be great for bloating and helps to block excess heat—perfect for Singapore’s humid weather.
Though compact in size, there are a few dine-in seats at LULI, where you can chill and chat over drinks with friends or colleagues.
