iSUSHI has affordable $2+ sushi at Junction Nine

Few things are better than a luxurious, high-quality sushi meal, but sometimes one just wants to enjoy the Japanese dish without breaking the bank. Thankfully, iSUSHI at Junction Nine offers exactly that. Every item—except drinks—on its sizeable menu costs just $2+, including a few options that are usually nowhere near that price.

One such example is the Uni Ikura Gunkan, featuring not just salmon roe, but also sea urchin, AKA uni. Uni is typically served at more upscale restaurants, but it has managed to squeeze its way into this menu. But at that price, the amount of uni in the dish is rather small, so you’ll need to temper your expectations a little.

Another dish that you’ll be glad to hear is $2 is the Salmon Lobster Hana, topped with shreds of lobster and bound by salmon and mayonnaise.

Even the Unagi and Ni Hotate sushi are priced the same. While the grilled eel and scallop are neither the freshest nor the highest quality, they definitely get the job done at that price point.

If you prefer your sushi seared, there’s the Salmon Aburi to enjoy. Fans of tempura also have options, including the Ebi Tempura Sushi.

The $2 price tag extends to mini don bowls and noodle dishes, too. The one we tried was the Lobster Ikura Don, and despite its small size, we rather enjoyed the combination of sweet lobster and umami-rich ikura.

Other popular options here include Maguro Sushi, Spicy Maguro Gunkan, and Lobster Salad. We found them to be mostly average—very much in line with what you’d get at chain sushi restaurants, but decent nonetheless. This is a solid option if you’re in the North and not looking to travel far for a sushi fix.
