When I think of quick, fully customisable meals on Orchard Road, the first things that come to mind are salad bars and froyo stalls, though the latter isn’t exactly a proper lunch option. Now, Ovals Pizza adds a third option to the mix. Better yet, it’s also halal, so Muslim patrons can enjoy its pizzas too.

Ovals Pizza’s thing is letting you fully customise your own Design Pizza ($13), and they take that concept to the next level.

First, choose how much handmade marinara sauce and cheese you want, ranging from none to heavy. Go for none or low for a lighter-tasting meal that won’t send you into a food coma, or heavy for a more decadent, saucy bite.

Next, pick two toppings from options such as broccoli, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes, plus a protein: beef bacon, beef pepperoni, chicken ham, chicken sausage, or egg. If you want to zhng up your pizza further, you can add extra toppings for a $1.50 each or proteins for $2 each. Finally, finish with a drizzle of their house-made dressings: American ranch, basil pesto, buffalo, or hot honey.

If you’re facing choice paralysis, fret not; you can also choose one of their signature pizzas instead. Their Bold ($12) is a fan favourite, featuring a classic Hawaiian pizza of chicken ham and pineapple chunks, topped with a drizzle of sweet-and-spicy hot honey. Those on a budget should get the Gold Standard ($10), a simple cheese pizza loaded with marinara sauce and stretchy cheese.

Their pizza knots are also a good option for a midday snack. Customise your own box of four Design Knots ($7.90), slathered in the same marinara sauce and cheese, and topped with a topping and protein of your choice, then garnished with any of the aforementioned dressings. Alternatively, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, get their Sweet Knot ($6). Inspired by mantou, it’s baked in a sugar and butter mixture for a crunchy, caramelly coating, and drizzled with sweetened condensed milk.

Ovals Pizza is located in Tangs Plaza, a five-minute walk from Orchard MRT Station.
