10 Best Kunafa Desserts To Try—Viral Pistachio Chocolate, Kunafa Waffles And More
1. Dopa

With two outlets in Tanjong Pagar and Chinatown, Dopa Dopa probably has the most renowned pistachio gelato on this list. They store their gelato in traditional pozzetti, which keeps the temperature and consistency at the optimum level. Their niche is their nut-based selection, so lots of people come here specifically for the pistachio—and since they roast their nuts from scratch, each spoonful has a perfectly nutty and toasty flavour. At $6.50 a scoop, it’s a little steep, but we believe it’s worth every penny.

2. Chan Susu

Chan Susu is a relatively new dessert cafe at Orchard Gateway known for its modern take on Chinese desserts. Better yet, they open till 11pm daily, making it a great spot for those late-night cravings. On our visit, we tried their 100% Natural Pistachio Paste ($8.60+), which was a touch milkier than other pistachio pastes we’ve had, but still had a pleasant nuttiness that’s sure to please pistachio fans. Pair it with their lava taro balls for the full experience.

3. AiFOKATO

This Telok Ayer kiosk has been winning over the CBD lunch crowd with its DIY affogato concept—pick your gelato, pick your pour, and you’re done. Each cup goes for $10 regardless of flavour, so you can mix and match between pours such as Espresso, Matcha, or Chocolate without worrying about the price. On our visit, we paired the Pistachio gelato with their Espresso—the bitter, robust shot played off beautifully against the creamy, subtly nutty scoop.Â

4. Bomul Gelato Bar

Bomul Gelato Bar, tucked outside the popular Bomul Samgyetang restaurant at CHIJMES, is one of those places that flies under the radar. Their Roasted Bronte Pistachio ($7) is genuinely impressive—the texture is dense and satisfying in the way good gelato should be, with a flavour that leans savoury and toasted rather than sugary. If you want to go a step further, their Dubai Double Black Chocolate ($7) is also worth a try: rich dark chocolate gelato topped with a crisp kunafa layer.

5. Yeah Gelato

Yeah Gelato is a Beijing-born brand with over 168 outlets across China, and their Plaza Singapura outlet has been sporting long queues ever since their opening in April 2026. Their signature Pistachio ($9.80) falls under their premium “Gold” category—studded with crushed pistachio nuts for extra texture and flavour. The tall, swooping soft-serve peaks also make it one of the most Instagrammable scoops going around. The chain has since expanded to multiple outlets, including Tampines Mall, so there’s very little excuse not to try it.

6. Tofu G

As you might expect from their name, the gelato at Tofu G is tofu-based, inspired by the traditional technique of grinding soybeans with a millstone, then adding a touch of milk for creaminess. It’s lighter and lower in fat than regular ice cream, so you can dig in with a little less guilt. Of course, you have to try their Pistachio ($8) flavour. The signature nuttiness of pistachio is present here, but blended with soybean for a unique flavour profile that’s unlike anything you’d get at a regular gelateria.

10. Venchi

Venchi, an award-winning Italian chain that has been around since the 1870s, has outlets at ION Orchard, Raffles City, Parkway Parade, and Marina Bay Sands. Their Bronte Pistachio gelato, priced from $11 for the mini size, uses pistachios sourced from Bronte, Sicily. It leans on the sweeter side and is on the creamier end of the spectrum, so those who prefer a more pronounced, savoury nuttiness might find it a touch mild. That said, if you’re newer to pistachio gelato and prefer something more accessible and dessert-forward, this one’s for you.Â

12. Nova Bakehouse

For those who’ve been wanting to try the viral Dubai chocolate kunafa bar without the hefty price tag, homegrown brand Nova Bakehouse‘s version is your answer at $25. Their Pistachio Kunafe Chocolate Bar packs creamy pistachio paste and shredded filo pastry inside a milk chocolate shell. The sweet-salty combination of chocolate and thick pistachio cream, complemented by the crunch of the kunafe, makes this a must-try. Note that the pistachio flavour here is on the milder side, so if you want more intensity, go for the Pistachio Cream Cheese ($25) instead.

13. Dough

We think Dough’s Pistachio Raspberry Croissant Cube ($6.50++) is one of the most underrated pistachio pastries in Singapore. The croissant comes perfectly cubic, with a well-executed pastry that’s crisp on the outside and soft inside. It’s stuffed with two fillings: pistachio cream and raspberry jam—the tart berry notes cut through the richer, nuttier pistachio beautifully, making for a well-balanced bite that’s more interesting than a regular pistachio croissant.

14. Sugar Mama Lah

This halal-certified patisserie has one of the most eye-catching pistachio desserts going around. Their Pistachio Kunafa Tiramisu ($13.90) layers tiramisu cake, pistachio cream, chocolate, and crispy kunafa pastry, designed to resemble a little block of earth—complete with a flower on top. When we tried this dessert during their most recent pop-up, we found the tiramisu layers to be light and fluffy, allowing the pistachio flavour to come through without getting lost in a wall of cream.

Soft Spot is Bangkok’s cult-favourite acai soft serve brand that landed on our shores last year to much fanfare. Their Turkish Dream ($11.50) is the one to get: acai soft serve topped with their signature pistachio sauce, pistachio feuilletine crunch, burnt butter honey-glazed shredded phyllo dough, and whipped cream. The Softspot for Love (from $9.90) is also worth ordering if you want lighter flavours.
