For many, one of the best places to get KL-style mee tai mak in Singapore is Boon Kee Kway Teow Noodle. Located in a Kembangan coffeeshop, this stall has been serving up its famous noodles for 47 years and counting, and does so with what its patrons deem to be remarkable consistency. And aside from mee tai mak, the stall also offers classic Singaporean noodle dishes that most will be familiar with, including bak chor mee and laksa.

You may have noticed that the menu in the picture above does not have mee tai mak in it. It’s actually an off-menu item, but rest assured—you’ll be able to order the dish should you ask for it.

A bowl of Mee Tai Mak here comprises short-strand noodles thoroughly coated with savoury dark sauce, then topped with minced meat, meatballs, fish cake, and fishballs. It’s a delightful combination that’s likely to impress fans of KL-style noods.

The stall is also known for its Minced Meat Noodle (from $4). Featuring springy noodles mixed with a chilli and vinegar combo, along with minced meat, fishcake, and fishballs, this is said to be a solid rendition of old-school bak chor mee.

A solid plate of Laksa here starts from $4, too. It features rich laksa gravy, silky noodles, and generous ingredients, which include tau pok and fresh cockles.
