If you’re looking for your next halal BBQ feast and hotpot speaks to you, look no further than Dajie Makan Place. Dajie as a franchise has four outlets across the country, but the Bedok Shopping Complex outlet is the only one that offers BBQ hotpot, which you can enjoy till 2am. We’ve heard great things about the place’s food, and the affordable prices are certainly enticing!

The eatery offers platters suitable for groups of two ($28.80) or four ($38.80) people. These come with a wide variety of ingredients, but you can also order some a la carte picks—standouts include Wagyu beef slices, tiger prawns, and half shell scallops. Sizzle them on the grill to enjoy the smoky goodness, or dunk them into the clear broth to savour your dishes hotpot-style.

For an additional $3, you can upgrade to the housemade Tom Yum Soup. This fiery broth is said to be highly aromatic and piquant, so fans of the eatery seem to treat it as the de facto soup of choice.

There’s also the option of ordering Mala Hotpot (from $3) if the tom yum soup isn’t tongue-numbing enough for you—you can choose from three levels of spiciness. Unfortunately, mala soup isn’t an option for the BBQ hotpot, so you can either order it to go along with your barbecue, or get mala xiang guo on its own.
