We’re into the last weeks of 2023, and things are still revving up in the F&B scene here. The latest import to hit our shores is the famous chocolate dessert cafe dipndip, which has set up shop in none other than VivoCity. Their soft launch date has been announced, and it’s set for 28 December 2023—and there’s no better way to end the year.

With more than 140 outlets in 19 countries, it’s a wonder that dipndip hasn’t yet come to Singapore—that’s alright, they’re about to. The Muslim-owned dessert cafe first opened back in 2009, and has spread across the globe, with our closest stores just across the border at Paradigm Mall and Mid Valley Southkey in JB.

While not halal-certified, dipndip prides themselves on using only halal-certified ingredients in all of their menu items. That’s not all: they also claim to use the finest, private-label Belgian chocolate in every one of their chocolate-centric creations. Exclusive to the Singapore store are kid-sized, or smaller portions of the same decadent desserts!

Start with their Pancake Brownie Stack ($19.80++), which is presented as a stack of freshly made buttermilk pancakes layered with sliced strawberries and house-made brownies. Then, it’s copiously drizzled with a trio of white, milk and dark chocolate, fresh from the chocolate fountains you’ll see in the glass window of the dipndip kitchen.

The pancake stack is absolute decadence on a plate, with oozing layers of more chocolate and cream cheese mousse within, and salted caramel pearls on top, adding crunch to each bite.

You’ll get the same gorgeously coloured drizzles on the Mighty Crepe (from $14.80++), but we went with Mighty Lotus Crepe (from $15.80++). The default chocolate it’s blanketed in is milk chocolate, with lashings of white choc, but you could also request for all-white, or dark chocolate instead.

Like the pancakes, these crepes are made to order, rolled with sliced strawberries, brownies, chocolate caramel cream, Lotus ganache Lotus crumbs, and Lotus spread.

dipndip singapore - chocolate burj intro

If you’re looking to impress first-time pals at dipndip, go for The Chocolate Burj ($22.80++), served as a tall chocolate cone with torched marshmallows, speculoos crumble and more at its base. Poured over this pièce de résistance is steaming hot dark chocolate, melting the cone to reveal vanilla bean ice cream, Lotus cream puffs and more surprises hidden inside.

dipndip singapore - chocolate fettuccine

For something fun, try the Fettuccine Crepe (from $12.80++), where freshly made crepes are shredded into one-centimetre-wide ribbons a la the actual pasta. Served with a scoop of ice cream of your choice, you can also decide if you want white, milk or dark chocolate to go with this.

dipndip singapore - dipndip waffle

Otherwise, keep it classic with the dipndip Waffle ($16.80++). Paired with lots of fresh fruit, as well as whipped cream, these buttermilk waffles are airy and light, with a touch of chewiness.

We had this with dark chocolate—AKA the least sweet option—and appreciated how the medley of fruits complemented the rich cocoa.

dipndip singapore - kinderella story

The dessert party doesn’t end there—there’s Kinderella Story ($10.80++), a Nutella-inspired sundae, or Caramel Crush ($10.80++), the speculoos version.

It’s a whole lot of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, Kinder chocolate, Nutella sauce and more, so proceed with caution.

dipndip singapore - hot chocolate

Perfect for cooler days, the Belgian Hot Chocolate ($6.80++) is nothing more than chocolate from the fountains, plus milk. Let them know if you want this with dark chocolate, and if you’d prefer to skip the whipped cream.

dipndip singapore - s'mores milkshake

Alternatively, go the freakshake route and have a S’mores Milkshake ($13.80++), blitzed with chocolate ice cream for a real treat.

dipndip singapore - mojito

They’ve got coffee and Mixed Berries Mojito ($8.80++) too, to cut through all that chocolatey goodness.

While you wait for dipndip to open, check out Cédric Grolet Singapore at their first store outside of Europe! There’s also Jamba Juice, which has opened a takeaway-only store in the basement of Wisma Atria.
